Answers
- How many documents will the WallFile hold?
The L-Rack is designed for 100 documents. This limit is determined by the short portion of the L-Rack. The SnapTabs holding these documents will compact to 1.5 inches on the short side when the "L" is hanging down in the storage position.
Some people put more than 100 on a rack, but then don't use the L-Rack in the storage position. If you choose to do this, you must take extra care to be sure that the L-Rack Mounts and wall material will support the extra weight.

- How much weight will the WallFile hold?
We recommend a maximum of 33 lbs. This is the equivalent of one hundred 30" x 40" heavy manila charts.
15 lbs. is the recommended maximum for easy holding and transport. This corresponds to the average collection of various sized items normally used in a classroom.

- How much space does the WallFile occupy?
In part, that depends on the size of the documents in your collection.
The WallFile itself does not take up much space:
- The L-Rack is 14" x 7" x 2".
- Depending which mount it is on, the L-Rack extends about 7-1/2" to make it easy to spread out and find your documents.
- Hanging down in the storage position, the WallFile needs only about 2" of horizontal depth.
Each of the mount options have somewhat different dimensions:
- The Basic Mount consists of two 1-1/2" plastic squares, 1/4" thick, 15" apart, each with a 1/2" wide hook which protrudes out from the wall 1/2".
- The Deluxe Mount is a steel plate measuring 15"wide x 2"high with a 1/2" protrusion along the top edge.
When the Deluxe Mount is not mounted at a particular location, there is only an unobtrusive screw head.
- The WallStand is about 16" wide x 48" tall x 1/2" deep.
When placed against the wall, the mounting part is 3/4" out from the wall; the wire frame foot extends out approximately 10" and presses against the floor.

- What size documents will the WallFile hold?
On the regular WallFile, documents over 30" wide can be folded and hung with another set of SnapTabs attached. Documents less than 15" wide can hang on one SnapTab.
The length of documents depends on how high the wall mounted L-Rack Mount is positioned above the floor. The WallStand will hold documents 41" high in hang down storage.
The Extended WallFile will hold documents up to 60" wide.
- I don't have any wall space to spare; how can I use the WallFile™ system?
The WallFile was specifically designed with space constraints in mind. Various WallFile options allow you to store and use it in different places; you don't have to commit any one section of wall space for exclusive use of the WallFile.
Two of our L-Rack Mount options were designed specifically to help with the wall space issue:
- The Deluxe Mount allows you to leave no more than an unobtrusive screw head at locations where you will only periodically want to place the mount.
- The WallStand takes this notion a step further, allowing you to make any wall space—or other sturdy support—a temporary location with no installation required.
Additionally, the slim design allows you to take advantage of unused storage space by storing the WallFile behind a door, between file cabinets, etc.

- Can I mount the WallFile on any kind of material?
Yes, done properly with the correct anchors, you can mount the WallFile on any sturdy material: wood, metal, cement, brick, cinder block and drywall.
We provide screws for wood; if you need to mount on other materials you must get the right kind of anchors (from your local hardware expert). Be sure to pay attention to the integral strength of the material on which you are mounting.

- Do the plastic SnapTabs™ wear out from repeated use?
No. The polyester, Mylar™ SnapTab is remarkably resilient and doesn't lose elasticity from repeated use.
- Why does the SnapTab have the slit in the middle at the top instead of a hook shape?
Our research has found that the slit top design, while providing just as much support as a single hook shape, makes it easier to snap items directly on and off the L-Rack™; you don't have to pay attention to lifting up and moving to one side to accommodate a hook.
- Why are the SnapTabs so thin?
The SnapTab thin size (.010"):
- Saves space by allowing 100 documents to compact together in less than 1-1/2".
- Makes the simple on/off "snap" removal or return of documents to and from the L-Rack even easier.

- Can the SnapTab be removed from the document?
Yes, the SnapTab is very easy to peel off plastic laminated documents.
To remove them from paper documents, you can snip them off with scissors, leaving only a small rectangle of clear adhesive film. Be sure to keep the SnapTab—you may want to tape it to another document.
For display, simply fold the SnapTab back out of sight if you don't want it visible.
- How can I store prints or artwork which I want to protect and don't want to attach the SnapTab to?
Place your artwork in sleeves—there are many sizes and materials available at art supply stores. Then attach the SnapTabs to the top edge of the sleeve.
- What if I buy the WallFile and find I can't use it?
