About MindSet

Inventing is our business. "Practical Ideas For The Human Potential" is our slogan. We value the human quest to be more effective.

Our company name "MindSet" is taken from the term "mind-set" referring to the tendency of the mind to use fixed and dependable thought patterns to proceed systematically and reliably with daily tasks. Ironically, this capacity of the mind for stable and reliable procedures in dealing with problems often limits it from seeing better solutions.

At MindSet we challenge these limits to discover solutions that assist people to find new potential or perform everyday tasks more effectively.

Often it takes some time to discover a satisfactory new idea, which then, interestingly, appears obvious and simple. Why was it difficult to discover it in the first place? It's all in the mind-set: a useful tool but, when a truly new idea is sought, mind-sets must be challenged and changed; this is not always easy.

Ted Heinz, the founder of MindSet, spent most of his professional life dedicated to education:, having taught and worked in a variety of settings and levels (elementary, secondary and adult; public and private; research and teacher development) as well as, in diverse regions (California, New Mexico and Latin America).

Over the years, he found himself inventing solutions to many kinds of problems. In 1997 Ted decided to form a business to bring some of his ideas to fruition. He has recently retired from teaching and now dedicates his workday to MindSet.

The MindSet product line, all modular parts of the WallFile™ Portfolio System, was developed in response to the need to store and have access to a large collection of charts and posters, which both he and his wife used as teachers. While other ideas and products are in the wings, we are concentrating, for now, on improving the quality and functionality of the WallFile sytem.
